The Ye Old Harrow pub dates back to the Georgian era, opening its doors to the public in 1822. Originally called the Old Harrow Inn, the pub joined many other boozers in that area, such as the Nelson Arms, Pheasant Inn and The Golden Cock. It survived both wars, and was a popular alehouse for local Park Hill residents.

The pub eventually closed in 2008, joining a large number of other that were situated in that area of Sheffield which closed their doors. Whilst many of them have been demolished and built on, Ye Old Harrow remains standing.

In recent years, there have been talks to restore Ye Old Harrow, as well as the derelict Durham Ox pub located nearby, into student pubs to fit current area, However on 15th April 2019, Ye Old Harrow was the victim of a devastating arson attack, which left it in a state of total disrepair.

Stories have emerged of a former tenant reporting several strange experiences during their time in the pub, including encountering a dark figure, doors which closed by themselves and items which disappeared and reappeared up to a month later. Another former occupier of the site remembered seeing shadows and closing doors occuring during the 1970s. A number of paranormal teams that have visited the pub have reported strange occurrences. These incidents have lead to Ye Old Harrow being given the moniker ‘Sheffield’s Most Haunted Pub’.
